We’re ready for cooler days, and even more ready to get back on those roofs!

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience as we work around this stretch of extreme heat. Sometimes taking care of your home means knowing when to wait, and we’ll always choose to do the job the right way rather than rush it.

Are you discussing your attic ventilation with your contractor?! Your roof isn’t the only thing protecting your home. Your attic ventilation matters too!

Many home and business owners typically don’t realize that what’s happening under the roof is just as important as the shingles on top.

Poor attic ventilation can lead to:

💰 The Lowest Price Isn’t Always the Best Value.

This is something we found out in the wild during a roof inspection.

As you can see in the photo, the entire roof was installed without underlayment beneath the shingles. Underlayment is a critical component of a roofing system—it provides a secondary layer of water protection if wind-driven rain or damaged shingles allow moisture through.

In many cases, failing to install the required underlayment can void the manufacturer’s warranty on the shingles.

Unfortunately, this is one example of why the cheapest estimate can end up being the most expensive decision. Some contractors are able to offer lower prices because they’re cutting corners where homeowners can’t easily see.

At Callahan Exteriors, we believe in doing the job the right way—not the cheapest way. We install complete roofing systems that meet manufacturer specifications because your home deserves lasting protection, not shortcuts.

Before choosing a contractor, ask questions:
✅ Is the roof being installed to manufacturer specifications?
✅ What materials are included?
✅ Is everything required for the warranty being installed?
