Gerald E. "Gerry" Jordan, 80, of Candor, NY passed away on August 18, 2026. Gerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; his mother-in-law, Arlene; his three children, Gerald, Patricia, Sharon; his four grandchildren, Casey, Sophia, Anna, Clara; his two brothers, Kenneth and Francis. Gerry is predeceased by his parents, Daisy and Elmer; father-in-law, Bo; sister, Dorothy; brother Elmer, and twin brother, David. Gerry was born at home on June 24, 1946. He was a graduate of Candor High School and retired from Cornell University. He was a hard worker and a determined problem-solver, building his family home from the basement to the roof with no formal training. This impressive custom log cabin has been the site of generations of family gatherings and his wife continues to call it home 45 years later. Gerry loved spending time outdoors, camping and hunting with family and friends. Gerry's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Elderwood at Waverly for their compassionate care over the last eight years. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor, NY with Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Lee M. Sibley, 84, of Owego, New York, passed away Friday, August 14, 2026. Lee was predeceased by his parents, Birchard and Bernice (Ho**er) Sibley; three brothers, Birchard Sibley, Jr., Alfred "Butch" Sibley, Charles "Charlie" Sibley; two sisters, Dawn Knox, Michaelene Nixon. Lee is survived by his wife of 59 years, Heidi (Kaufmann) Sibley; daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Brian Cain; grandson, Gage Cain; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Palma Sibley, Jeffrey and Linda Sibley; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Lee loved his neighbors like his own grandchildren, Dylan and Nick Slater, Phil and Kim Slater. Lee was raised in Owego, NY and was a graduate of Owego Free Academy, class of 1961. He was a very good athlete excelling in football, basketball and track and Field (he held the OFA School Record in shotput for many years). Lee was recognized as one of the best pool players in the area. He worked many jobs and retired from Sanmina Corp. after 38 years of service. Diane L. Hover, 79, of Newark Valley, NY, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2026. Diane was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Betty (Ockerman) Hart; her brothers, Danny Hart, Harry Hart. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Hover; four children and their spouses, Larry and Trudy Hover, Tina and Rich Barto, Michael Hover and Amy Alexander, Jason and Siara Hover; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; three sisters and brother-in-law, Evelyn Predmore, Gloria Smith, Delores and William Hynes; brother, Timothy Hart; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Edward Lynn "Ed" Bidwell, 80, of Owego, New York, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Mildred (Weber) Bidwell; three brothers, Donald Bidwell, Daniel Bidwell, Harold "John" Bidwell. his wife of 51+ years, Gloria Bidwell. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Gwenda Ward, Greta and Tom Craven, Gabrielle and Scott Gurney; five grandchildren, Bryan and Branden Ward, Samuel, Kendra and Alexander Gurney; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Kathie Bidwell, Steve and Edna Bidwell; sister, Barbara Latier; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed attended Owego Free Academy and served with the U.S. Army during Vietnam. When he returned home, he worked for Royal Ford of Owego and later Joe Trabucco Chevrolet, Inc. Ed was very community minded and was active with the Ahwaga Ladder Co. #5, Life member of the Owego Fire Department (Past Chief), Life member of the Glen A. Warner VFW Post #1371, Life Member of the American Legion Tioga Post #401 (Past Commander), Past Tioga County American Legion County Commander of Tioga County. Irene Virginia Harding, 97, of Apalachin, passed away Thursday August 6, 2026. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Madeline (Conrad) Rood; several brothers and sisters; her loving husband of 72 years, Richard "Dick" Harding, to whom she was very devoted; and her son, Wayne Harding.

Irene survived by her son, Terry Harding and Kathy Shirley; granddaughter and her husband Tarrah and David Koehler; five great grandchildren, Brenden Russell, Brittney (Ian) Williams, Kyle Russell (Mandy), Kaden (Sara) Russell, Madison Sims (Noah); one great-great granddaughter, Aliyah Williams; a special niece and namesake, Sandy Irene Dixon; several other nieces and nephews.

Irene was born in 1929 and grew up in Lenoxville, PA. In 1947, she graduated from Harford High School. In her 20's she moved to Southern Tier NY and went to work for Anso. She met Richard and they were married in 1950. For 16 years, she raised her boys at home. In 1967, she decided to go back to work and was employed for IBM and later retired with 31 years of service. She also worked summer weekends quarrying flagstones. Summers also meant family trips and vacations to Sandy Pond.

In 1979, Richard and Irene built their dream retirement home in Hernando FL, and they were snowbirds for 30 winters before returning to the area year-round to be closer to family.

Irene was such a kind, caring, loving woman. She took such pride in her home and family. Cooking and baking was something she did with love and it was apparent in every dish, pie, and cake she served. She was so incredibly special to all who knew and loved her and will be missed beyond measure.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego, NY with entombment following in the Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

Laura P. (Quick) Updyke, 80, of Candor, New York, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 30, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Laura was born at the family homestead in Willseyville, New York to the late William and Margaret (Goodwin) Quick. Along with her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Frank Updyke; two sisters, Frieda Billings, Carol Decker; two brothers, William Quick, Jr., Donald Quick. Edward C. "Ed" Woodard, 61, of Barton, New York, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026. Ed was born in Waverly, New York to the late Barbara (Haner) Orendorff and Edward C. Woodard. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Mike.
