Talk about a steamy summer…. We may be in the final few weeks but it definitely doesn’t feel like it down here. It’s rained all throughout the long weekend and it isn’t supposed to stop any time soon… that’s okay though, like most things in life, the plants do always look a little better wet.

A little collage of what I woke up to this morning ;) my philodendrons and syngoniums are absolutely loving it… my succulents not so much. It’s been a bit of a of a daily rase to save them from the afternoon rain 😅 I’ve definitely got some plant chores I’ve been dodging; might have to suck it soon and getter done!!

So excited I couldn’t wait till Monstera Monday to share. Presenting ‘Devil in the Details’, my third ever commission.

This piece was such a wonderful challenge and truly one of my favorite botanical pieces I’ve ever created to date. It challenge to get comfortable with adding more depth to my pieces and above all learning when to stop. Sometimes less really is more.

It was almost hard to let it go until I remembered the amazing place it was going home to. It was such a delight to create this custom Devil Monstera piece for Cherie Shoaf of Cherie for her awesome husband. Turning a wishlist plant into something that can be preserved forever was such a cool experience and truly unlocked something for me. From playing with my style some and feeling comfortable leaning into something a little darker this was such a fun project.

So who knows… maybe if $10k is a hair out of budget for a plant or maybe you are in your 700th try of the same calathea…. I could maybe make you something that will last forever 😉

Cherie, thank you so much for the chance to create something so special for you guys and thank you for believing in me.

I can’t wait to work on more plant portraits in the future but until then… can you guys spot the skull hidden in the fenestrations? 👀

Truly one of the most magical places I’ve ever been. You can’t convince me that this isn’t some sort of fairy portal 🧚✨

We stumbled across this gem at Bok Tower Gardens and I still can’t believe how beautiful it was. Dragon flies quite literally danced over the water and in the background you could hear the floating notes from the Organ being played at the top of the tower on the distance.

Just one of many stunning parts of the Bok Tower Gardens and something I daydream about having in a future yard well well into the future….

Finally getting around to posting an adventure we went on a few weeks ago. After finishing a wedding venue tour in Lake Wales, JP and I finally crossed frolicking Bok Tower Gardens off our bucket list.

The gardens were absolutely stunning and the paths sprawled all throughout the property. To see every inch of it I would highly recommended any plant/ nature lovers to block off a whole day (5-7hrs) to wander all the different sections and truly take some time to smell the roses.

While there are plenty of beautiful plants to awe over I think the main appeal of this botanical garden is its strolling paths and beautiful architecture. The tower itself is breathtaking in person. There are so many small details on and around it that make it so worth seeing in person.

I think the only thing we would do different in the future would be to have planned a slower day. In a rush to see it all, I kinda feel like I missed out on the true appeal and that’s to find a shaded spot and take in the beauty all around. I want to go back and have a picnic and live paint.

For my birthday JP gifted us a membership to the American Horticultural Society American Horticultural Society | American Gardener Magazine . It grants us access to hundreds of Botanical Gardens across North America, including Bok Tower Gardens. I definitely plan on going back and taking it in the way it was mean to be, slowly and with patience. (Also when it’s not 95° out 🙃)

I would love to hear about anyone else experience here or about any of your other favorite botanical gardens and recommendations. While I know we won’t be able to see it all in this year I definitely want to see everything Florida has to offer….

Today is my Birthday!!! I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for the love I’ve been showed today and for the amazing people I get to call my friends and family. From getting to catch up over martinis to an upcoming beach day, I truly feel so spoiled and lucky to have the life I do and for the people I’m surrounded by.

As I officially start the back end of my twenties all I can say is that I’m so very proud of the person I’ve grown into and the woman I wake up everyday and try to be. This is a sentiment that hasn’t come easy. If anything it’s a fairly new development. Even just a few years ago I couldn’t even begin to imagine having the pride in myself that I do. There were many points during and post college into adulthood that I truly just felt lost. I couldn’t imagine that the future could hold so much potential, adventure, and love. And while I can chalk so many of my blessing up to just being lucky, I know so many of my accomplishments and joy come from waking up everyday and just trying to do better and be better.

I’m thankful for my momma for instilling a fire in me to wake up everyday, be productive, and just try. I’m thankful to have friends who have do nothing but champion me on, even in the lowest seasons, and ofc to have already found my soul mate who doesn’t nothing but fill my cup and shower me in love.

I crossed so many milestones from art classes to vending to getting engaged in chapter 25, I truly cannot wait to see what 26 has in store.

Sincerely, your local garden faerie
