With spring storms rolling in, now is the time to test your sump pump BEFORE you need it.
Here’s a quick way to test it yourself:
- Make sure the pump is plugged in
- Slowly pour a bucket of water into the sump pit
- Watch to make sure the float rises and the pump turns on
- Verify the water pumps out properly and shuts back off afterward
If the pump doesn’t turn on, sounds unusual, runs constantly, or drains slowly, it may need service before the next heavy rain.
A failed sump pump can lead to:
- Flooded basements
- Water damage
- Mold issues
- Ruined belongings
Not sure if your system is working properly? Want a battery back up for peace of mind? We’re happy to help with inspections, testing, repairs, and replacements.
