As part of the Kiewit Massman Traylor (KMT) joint venture, Massman Construction is proud to support delivery of Phase One of the incredible Mobile River Bridge & Bayway. Our team looks forward to contributing to the delivery of this landmark project that will serve Alabama and the region for generations to come.

Construction is officially underway on the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project.

State, federal and local leaders broke ground last week to mark the start of construction on Alabama’s largest transportation infrastructure project.

As part of the design-build team for Kiewit Massman Traylor, a Joint Venture (KMT), Kiewit is helping deliver Phase One, which includes a new six-lane, cable-stayed Mobile River Bridge, as well as improvements to key interchanges and traffic flow, and restriping the existing Bayway to provide six lanes of capacity across Mobile Bay.

The Buck O'Neil Bridge team recently presented on the project at the Design-Build Institute of America Transportation & Aviation Conference in Dallas and at the DBIA MAR Annual Conference in Kansas City.

Recognized by the DBIA Mid-America as their overall 2025 Project of the Year, as well as Best Project in the Civil Infrastructure and Bridge category, the Buck O'Neil Bridge project reimagined a congested and dangerous corridor and prepared the region for a multi-modal future.
