Not sure what primer or paint is right for your home? You can always reach out to us for a second opinion and make sure the proper products are being used.

For this project, we used a specialized primer and paint designed for steel to provide the right adhesion, protection, and finish.

We also repaired the frame around the garage door and re-stained it so everything could come together and look cohesive.

You chose the brand, the color, and then your painter asks:

“What sheen?”

Sheen isn’t just about how shiny the paint looks. It also affects light reflection, durability, cleaning, and protection.

🏠 CEILINGS — FLAT
Ceilings are low-traffic surfaces, so we usually recommend flat. It reduces light reflection and helps hide small imperfections for a clean, smooth look.

🧱 WALLS — EGGSHELL OR SATIN
These finishes offer a soft reflection while providing better protection against everyday wear. For kids, pets, or high-traffic areas, we recommend investing in a washable finish.

🚪 TRIM, DOORS & CABINETS — SATIN TO GLOSS
These surfaces need more durability. Semi-gloss or gloss makes them easier to clean and more resistant to dirt, moisture, and daily use.

🛡️ THE PAINT BASE MATTERS TOO
For high-contact surfaces, urethane or oil-based coatings can provide a harder, more durable finish and better resistance to scuffs and frequent cleaning.
