🔥 EXTREME HEAT WARNING: NOW THROUGH TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH 🔥
We are officially entering what we like to call “Satan’s Hell” temperatures. 🥵
With temperatures pushing the upper 90s and heat index values reaching well over 100°, your air conditioning system is about to put in some SERIOUS overtime.
Here are a few things you can do to help your HVAC system survive this brutal stretch:
☀️ **Keep your thermostat at a reasonable temperature.** Setting it extremely low won't cool your home faster—it will only make your system work harder and longer.
🚪 **Keep doors and windows closed.** Every bit of hot air entering your home adds to the workload.
🪟 **Close blinds and curtains during peak sunlight hours.** Blocking direct sunlight can make a noticeable difference.
🧹 **Check your air filter.** A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes your system work harder than necessary.
🌿 **Keep your outdoor unit clear.** Make sure grass, weeds, leaves, and other debris aren't blocking airflow around the unit.
🔥 **Avoid adding extra heat indoors when possible.** Hold off on using the oven, dryer, or other heat-producing appliances during the hottest part of the day if you can.
And one important reminder: **Your system may run almost continuously during extreme temperatures—and that doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong.** Your AC is working overtime trying to keep up with these extreme conditions.
Your AC is fighting a war right now. Give it a fighting chance. 💪
