We were pleased to welcome more than 20 congressional staff members of Center Forward to our Seattle plant.

For more than a century, our Seattle plant has played an important role in supporting the Pacific Northwest's growth, providing the cement needed for critical infrastructure projects, from airports and transit systems to the buildings that shape Seattle's skyline. Since beginning operations in 1920, the plant has remained focused on operational excellence, innovation, and environmental stewardship.

Visits like these help us engage policymakers in meaningful discussions, educate them about cement production and infrastructure needs, and showcase the impact our people and products have in building stronger, more resilient communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit a success.

The journey of cement starts long before construction begins.
The cement manufacturing process begins with the mining of limestone, marl, and clay from quarries. These materials are crushed, ground and blended before being heated in a kiln at temperatures approaching 2,000°C, where they are transformed into small granules known as clinkers.

The clinker is then finely grounded with gypsum to produce cement—the essential ingredient used in the concrete that helps build roads, bridges, hospitals, water systems, and other critical infrastructure.

The cement and concrete industry supports our communities facing the realities of climate change with a stronger, sustainable infrastructure and is committed to working with partners to promote sustainable development initiatives that reduce the impact of production.

This Fourth of July, we celebrate more than our nation’s independence—we celebrate the strength that builds it every day.

America’s cement industry is a cornerstone of our infrastructure, our manufacturing base, and our national security. From roads and bridges to data centers and next-generation facilities, cement makes progress possible.

At Ash Grove, we’re proud to support the foundations of America’s future—delivering the materials that keep our country moving forward, innovating, and growing stronger.

As we honor this holiday, we’re grateful for the role we play in building a resilient, competitive, and connected nation.

Happy Independence Day.

Proud to see our team joining the ACA - American Cement Association annual Cement Fly-In in Washington, D.C., where industry leaders and policymakers came together to discuss the future of manufacturing, construction and infrastructure.

We were represented by Monica Manolas, ACA Board Chair and Ash Grove East Region President, as conversations focused on domestic manufacturing, transportation infrastructure and the BUILD America 250 Act.

Thank you to the ACA for bringing the industry together and creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue on the issues shaping the communities we serve.
