🌪️ WE’VE BEEN QUIET — BUT WE HAVEN’T BEEN SITTING STILL.
It’s been a while since we’ve posted here, and there’s a pretty simple reason:
We’ve been busy working claims.
Over the past several months, the Cornerstone Adjusters team has been working with homeowners affected by the Streator tornado, along with multiple significant hail and wind events across Illinois.
We’ve been especially active in and around:

…and several other communities throughout the state.
And as these claims have progressed, we continue to see the same thing we’ve seen for years:
The initial insurance estimate doesn’t always tell the whole story.
Missing damage. Incomplete scopes. Repair methods that don’t actually restore the property. Damage being called “cosmetic.” Necessary work being excluded. And, in some cases, claims being denied when there is legitimate storm damage that deserves a much closer look.
That’s where having someone representing the policyholder matters.
Cornerstone Adjusters is a licensed Illinois public adjusting firm. We inspect the property, document the damage, review the carrier’s scope and estimate, identify what may have been missed, and advocate for the homeowner throughout the claim.
And because our background extends beyond adjusting into actual construction, we understand the difference between what looks good on an insurance estimate and what it actually takes to properly restore a property.
