But outwardly they put on a show, a smile, a fake face to perform to the world that they are ok. They pretend they dont have kids to numb the crippling pain in their hearts. The joy they had of coming home to "daddy's home", the wrestling matches, bike rides, hikes, swimming, fishing, coaching sports teams their kids played on all become hazy memories of a life never to be relived but experienced in the alone time as a torture of what was and will never be again. Some turn to the bottle, the drugs or a means to end it all. But through it all Jesus sits with them in that valley of death and decay. He sits and whispers "Im here, hold on just a little longer, I am with you. Learn from me, take my yolk upon you. I will make all things new. But there must be a forging and refinement that I must do in you. Because you wouldn't be here if you didn't fail as headship of the family through my ways. You must look in the mirror and take full accountability for your role not just blaming the aftermath of destruction that came from brokenness. Be still my son, I will never leave or forsake you".
