Fall-planted flowers really do make the best cut flowers in spring and early summer, and the garden is bursting!

We’re opening the flower stand on Friday since rain is in the forecast for the weekend. Stop by 2020 State Route 257 S anytime after 10:00 a.m. to pick up a fresh bouquet!

The stand will be closed next weekend, so this will be your last chance to grab flowers for a couple of weeks. Stop by and treat yourself—or surprise a friend—with some of the prettiest blooms of the season!

While checking seedlings today, I discovered this little little guy had moved in. From what I’ve read, a toad can eat thousands of garden pests throughout the growing season, so I’d say he’s earning his keep!

The thought of doing wedding flowers makes me really nervous. Truthfully, I almost always say no.

But today, I said yes. Jody was so kind and easygoing from the very beginning, and I felt honored that she trusted me with a small piece of such an important day.

Happy Wedding Day, Jody! Thank you for letting our flowers be part of your celebration. It means so much to see blooms that started as tiny seeds here on the farm make their way into life’s sweetest moments.

PS - please ignore my dirty nails! I was planting in the field earlier this morning!!

Floriography Friday: I’m so excited to be growing Canterbury Bells for the first time this season! Named for their resemblance to the bells of Canterbury Cathedral, these blooms were once planted near homes as a symbol of protection and good fortune.

In the language of flowers, Canterbury Bells represent lasting devotion—a fitting meaning for a flower that takes two years to bloom.

I have a feeling every bouquet needs a few Canterbury Bells from now on.
