There’s a lot that happens behind the scenes that people don’t see — the planning, the learning, the long nights and the sacrifices that come with trying to grow something of your own.

We’re putting in the work now to grow and scale GMS Electric for what’s ahead.

Birthday weekend is over -- back to work we go! Yesterday I turned another year older and chose to spend it fully unplugged with my favorite people. No emails, no calls, no social media -- just family, cake, and all the things that actually matter.

Coming back to all of your birthday messages this morning made my heart so full. Thank you to everyone who reached out -- the love from this community means more than you know. I felt it even with my phone put away! 🎂

But today is Monday and GMS Electric does not slow down for long! Gene and I are heading into September with a full schedule, a great crew, and so much to be grateful for. Starting a business is one of the hardest things we have ever done -- but celebrating another birthday while watching it grow makes every early morning worth it.

Site lighting is one of those things that people do not always think about until a project is nearly done -- but it takes planning, coordination, and the right equipment to do it right. Our bucket truck, our crew, start to finish.

7 years ago today, I married my business partner, my best friend, and the hardest working man I know.

Gene and I said, 'I do' 7 years ago -- and somewhere along the way we also said, 'let's start an electrical company together.' Honestly, both were great decisions.

Building a business with your spouse is not always easy. There are long days, tough calls, and moments where the line between work and home completely disappears. But watching what we are building together in the Chippewa Valley -- the projects, the crew, the customers who trust us -- makes every single bit of it worth it.

Happy anniversary, Gene. Here is to more years of building something great together. On and off the job site.
