Owner Robert Butterson operated Butterson Builders with his father in the mid 70's and in 1979 he obtained his own builders license. In 2000 he started Butterson Construction and his son Matt Butterson began working for the company immediately. Matt always shared interests in construction and carpentry with his father, in 2007 he earned an associate's degree in CADD (computer aided drafting and de

sign) Engineering, and in 2012 obtained his own builders license. Together they have designed and built many homes, cottages, additions, remodels, etc. They do not complete these projects on their own, they have a small team of experienced carpenters and a large group of contractors. Working with the best of all trades they expect a high level of quality and care. "One of the most upsetting things I hear these days is a person has contacted multiple contractors and some don't call back, some don't show up to the meeting, and some say they aren't interested. We are interested in every project and I think that gets us in trouble sometimes with scheduling. But, we feel that everyone deserves an honest and detailed proposal of their project, if we are the skilled and educated people of our trade, then it is our responsibility to educate others who are interested in working with us."

A recent new build we have completed. This house features quite a bit of custom Azek work and T&G porch ceilings. The owners requested that we saved some of the cabin planking from the old cottage and they decided to use it as an accent wall around the fireplace. Which includes the original fireplace mantel. We also got to spread our creative wings when building custom bed cubbies with built in drawers, device charging niche, reading lights, and Shiplap wall finishes. There’s lots more to show, but these 10 photos will have to do. The last picture is a window sash we saved from the old cottage that our mom, Loriann Butterson, painted a landscape of the cottage based on a photo we took last winter. So much talent that really tugged on the heart strings.
