This week our Fire Door Compliance Manager Benjamin Giles taught an annual fire door inspection class for the facilities team at Swedish Cherry Hill campus. From the classroom to the hallways, Ben walked the team through exactly what NFPA 80 & 105 requires, what inspectors look for, and how to identify deficiencies before they become compliance issues.

Q4 is here and if you manage a commercial facility it is one of the most important times of the year to take stock of what your doors actually need. 🚪📋

Annual fire door inspections, planned maintenance agreements, aging operators that have been on their last legs all year, storefront systems due for an upgrade — these are not conversations to have in January when the budget is already locked. They are conversations to have right now while there is still time to plan, price, and allocate accordingly.

A few things worth putting on your Q4 facilities checklist:

Have your fire doors been inspected this year? NFPA 80 requires annual inspections and if yours haven’t happened yet the clock is running. Getting them done before year end gives you a clean compliance record heading into 2027.

Are there doors or operators in your facility that have been a recurring maintenance issue this year? A planned maintenance agreement heading into the new year can bring those costs down and keep you ahead of the next failure instead of responding to it.

Are there replacements or upgrades you have been putting off? Q4 is the time to get those scoped, quoted, and budgeted so the work can be scheduled and executed in Q1 without delay.

Vegas was good to the ADS team! 🎰🚪

Our first trip to GlassBuild America: The Glass Window & Door Expo is officially in the books, and we came home with a lot more than just a few photos.

It was a great week of learning, seeing new products and technology, meeting new people, strengthening relationships and spending some quality time together as a team.

A huge thank you to Door Controls USA for inviting us to attend and for the hospitality throughout the week. We really appreciated being included in dinner Thursday night with several of their other customers and having the chance to spend some time together outside of the show.

Thank you to Carlos, Beto, Logan, Chance, Sean, Jacques and the entire Door Controls USA team for the conversations, laughs and for making us feel so welcome.

One of our biggest takeaways from the week was something we already believe strongly at ADS — this industry is built on relationships. The products, technology and education matter, but so do the people you get to meet and work alongside.

And of course, we managed to fit in a little Vegas fun along the way. ⛳🥊

We’re back in Washington with new ideas, stronger relationships and plenty to build on.

Day two at GlassBuild America in Las Vegas and already worth the trip! 🌟🚪

We had the chance to sit in on an NGA Installing Committee panel covering some of the most important conversations happening in the glazing industry right now delegated design, interior glass partitions, frameless shower enclosures, and how the industry is working to define standards and grow the next generation of qualified installers.

What made it even better our friend Joe from Herzog Glass was on that panel helping shape those conversations. Seeing people we know and respect at the table driving real industry change is exactly the kind of thing that reminds us why showing up to events like this matters.

First time at GlassBuild as a company and it already feels like a room we belong in. More to come from Las Vegas! 🎰

What a great way to wrap up the summer at the 41st Annual Washington Glass Association Golf Tournament at Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club! ⛳

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by Hole #10 to spend some time with the Automatic Door Solutions team.

We had a great time catching up with familiar faces, meeting new people, and enjoying some great conversations throughout the day. Being set up on the Men’s Long Drive hole made it even more fun there were definitely some impressive shots off the tee!

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect outside of the normal day-to-day. Whether we were talking about automatic doors, fire door inspections, preventive maintenance, door hardware and bulk supply, new installations, upcoming projects or just golf we’re glad you stopped by.
