𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲-𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Please join us in welcoming Ryan Ristaino to Sargent as a Project Manager in our Mid-Atlantic region. Ryan joined the team earlier this year and brings 12 years of construction experience to our work in Virginia.

Ryan will manage the day-to-day coordination that keeps a job moving. That includes financials, scheduling, contracts, billing, subcontractor coordination, and supporting the field team with sequencing and milestone planning.

“I’m looking forward to being able to help the field and work through strategic planning and problem-solving,” Ryan shared. “To work around the field team and help them make each day successful is a huge goal.” When asked what matters most to him in his work, he kept it simple: “Working together as a solid team.”

The latest group of New England college interns has joined Sargent for the summer, and they're heading straight to the field.

The intern program is built around the job site. The interns will spend the summer in the trenches with the superintendents, foremen, operators, and employee-owners who do this work every day. That's where the real mentorship happens. Our Workforce Advancement Team backs them up with weekly check-ins, homework, and a presentation at the end of the summer on what they picked up out there.

They already got a taste of it their first week from Kenny Thurlow, a decades-long Sargent operator and member of the Workforce Advancement Team.

Clayton White’s retirement marks the close of an extraordinary chapter at Sargent. After more than 54 years with the company, Clayton retired on Dec. 31, 2025, leaving behind a career defined by steady leadership, quality work, and a long list of projects that helped shape our history. From his first days on the Maine Turnpike Exit 6A project in 1971 to decades of highway and commercial work that followed, Clayton built a reputation for doing the job right the first time.

Over the years, Clayton worked alongside many respected mentors and coworkers, while also becoming a mentor himself to generations of employee-owners. His approach was simple and lasting: pay attention, work hard, stay steady, and do your best. As President & CEO, Eric Ritchie shared, Clayton has been a pillar of Sargent for more than half of our company’s time in business, and his legacy will continue through the people and standards he helped shape.

Now in retirement, Clayton plans to take it easy, catch up on projects around the house, listen to audiobooks, and enjoy some favorite television shows. Thank you, Clayton, for more than five decades of commitment, craftsmanship, and quiet leadership. We wish you all the best in retirement.
