This past week, we had the pleasure of attending the ASCC Annual Convention in Columbus, Ohio. It was great to reconnect with friends and make new connections with so many outstanding people in our industry.

One of the highlights of the convention for us was the seminar presented by Tyler Ley. If you don’t already follow Tyler on social media, check him out—he is incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining.

Tyler presented research on the finishing and performance of several concrete mix designs, including mixes using Type IL and Type I/II cements. Understanding which components of your mix design have the greatest impact on placement, finishing, and overall performance can help you and your crew better prepare for successful pours.

ASCC will be publishing the results of this research within the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for the release announcement.

Kudos to ASCC and everyone involved in making the convention such a great experience. And congratulations to all of the award recipients! Your work represents some of the very best in our industry!
