Registration opens tomorrow, October 1, 2026 for the 2027 Apopka Citizens Police Academy. This is an 8-week program that covers a broad spectrum of police topics. This academy will familiarize civilians with our agency and what it's like to be a police officer. Participants learn about criminal investigations, SWAT, K-9 and more, all taught by Apopka Police Department Officers and civilian employees. After graduation there is an option to join the Apopka Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (ACPAAA). The ACPAAA helps with volunteering and providing APD with crucial civilian support throughout the year.
