2008 tested a lot of things.

When the Great Recession forced Clyde Companies to find significant ways to cut costs, one proposal was to reduce the company's 401(k) match—saving millions.

Wilford Clyde wouldn't do it.

“The last thing I’m going to do is cut the 401(k) of these team members. If anyone works for me for any amount of time, I want them to be able to retire well.”

The answer was clear: find another way.

That's what We Value People looks like—not just when times are good, but especially when they're not.
