Just move into a new home?
Before you light your first fire, make sure your chimney is safe and ready to use.
Many homeowners don't realize that a chimney should be inspected before the first burn—especially if you don't know its history. A professional inspection can identify hidden damage, creosote buildup, or liner issues before they become costly or dangerous.
Schedule your chimney inspection with Ed Bennis Chimney Repairs and enjoy your fireplace with confidence.

Another beautiful natural stone chimney brought back to life.

We carefully repointed the entire chimney using LimeWorks lime mortar, restoring the joints with a breathable mortar that's appropriate for historic stone masonry. We also installed a custom powder-coated black stainless steel chimney cap to provide long-lasting protection from rain, animals, and debris while complementing the home's architecture.

It's always rewarding to preserve the character of a historic home while giving it the protection it needs for decades to come.

Another dangerous chimney system replaced!
We removed an old, rusted wood stove chimney system and replaced it with a new Ventis Class A insulated chimney system. This double-wall insulated chimney helps maintain proper flue temperatures for safer, more efficient performance.
When we removed the old chimney, we found it was heavily restricted with flammable creosote buildup, creating a serious chimney fire hazard. The aging chimney was also rusting and at risk of leaking.
This replacement couldn't have come at a better time, as the homeowner is having a new roof installed this week. Replacing the chimney first helps protect the new roof while providing a much safer venting system for years to come.
If your wood stove chimney is showing signs of rust or hasn't been inspected recently, don't wait until it becomes a safety hazard. Schedule an inspection before problems become emergencies.

Before ➡️ After
We recently updated this traditional masonry fireplace with an Osburn Inspire 2000 wood fireplace insert, giving the homeowner a cleaner look, greater efficiency, and significantly more heat.
Heating appliances are currently experiencing delays moving from manufacturers in Canada to the U.S. If you're thinking about installing a wood-burning insert before fall, it's a good idea to start planning now rather than waiting until the first cold snap.
Approximate heating area: 500–2,100 sq. ft.

Brick Pointing & Water Repellent Complete
This chimney had deteriorated mortar joints that allowed moisture to enter the masonry. We carefully repointed the brickwork where needed and applied a professional-grade breathable water repellent to help protect the chimney from future water damage while allowing moisture v***r to escape.
If your chimney has cracked mortar, loose bricks, or signs of water damage, don't wait until a small repair becomes a major rebuild. Contact Ed Bennis Chimney Repairs for an inspection.

Before ➡️ During ➡️ After

This chimney had extensive cracking, deteriorated masonry, and years of weather damage. Rather than applying temporary repairs, our crew carefully dismantled the damaged stonework above the roofline and completed a full rebuild.

The project included: ✔ Stone chimney rebuild ✔ Stainless steel chimney liner installation ✔ New concrete crown ✔ New chimney cap

The result is a safer, more durable chimney system that will help protect the home from future water damage while improving venting performance.

Summer is one of the best times to address chimney repairs before the fall rush begins.
