A benefit of some chaos of not keeping all the hens in the movable fencing - some of them are still hatching new chicks! The consequence - we rarely have had any eggs to sell this year. This mama has I think 12 chicks. Shes a bit rough - I think it’s time some of our roosters will need to meet us by the freezer.

A benefit of just leaving all the hens to roam around the farm this spring - one of them got broody and hatched her own chicks! 🐥 🐣

Chick cam. These guys are 3 days old and will be in the security and heat of the brooder for the next 2 weeks before they go to the chicken tractors and start living in safety on pasture.
