👨‍🔧 **Plumbing School with Big Steve!**

Big Steve is back sharing a little plumbing knowledge! Today we’re talking about **air gaps** and why that little bit of space can play a BIG role in protecting your water supply.

That gap between the faucet and the flood level of the fixture helps prevent contaminated water from being pulled back into your clean water system.

Most people never think about it—but that’s why you call the pros! We don’t just fix plumbing. **We understand how the whole system works and why it matters.**

🎓 Class is in session with Big Steve!

Rough-In Work: Built Solid From the Ground Up

Every good plumbing job starts before the fixtures ever go in.

Before the walls are finished…
Before the floors are covered…
Before anybody sees the final product…

There’s rough-in work underneath it all.

This is where fall, layout, drains, vents, and solid workmanship matter. Because once it gets covered up, it needs to be right.

Big Steve Explains: What Is a Plumbing Rough-In?

A rough-in is the plumbing work that happens before everything gets covered up.

Before the concrete is poured…
Before the walls are closed…
Before the sinks, toilets, tubs, and fixtures are installed…

The drain lines, water lines, vents, and layout all have to be placed correctly.

It may not look pretty yet, but this is where the job is won or lost.

Good plumbing starts underground and behind the walls.

Behind the scenes with Brodie on a rough-in.

This is the stage of plumbing most homeowners never get to see.

Before the kitchen sink is ever set…
Before the walls are finished…
Before the floor is covered…

The drains, vents, and stub-outs all have to be planned and installed right.

A good finish starts with a good rough-in.

Plumbing isn’t just pipe in the ground.

On drain lines, fall matters.

Too flat, and the water won’t carry waste properly.
Too much fall, and the water can outrun the solids.

That’s why rough-in plumbing has to be measured, strapped, leveled, and planned before it ever gets covered up.

Gravity is simple — but plumbing has to respect it.
