🚦Traffic Advisory: Two new pedestrian hybrid beacons (PHBs) are now active on S.R. 200 east of I-75 in Ocala, between Southwest 32nd Avenue and Southwest 26th Street, and between Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest 10th Avenue. A third PHB, located between Southwest 35th Terrace and Southwest 34th Avenue, is expected to be activated next week.

Here’s how they work:
🚶‍♀️ If you’re walking – Push the button and wait for the “WALK” signal. Make sure traffic has stopped before you begin crossing.
🚗 If you’re driving – The signal stays dark until a pedestrian pushes the button. Flashing yellow means slow down; solid yellow means prepare to stop; solid red means stop and remain stopped while people cross. If the light is flashing red, proceed with caution only if it is clear.

🌧️ ❓ Why are construction schedules “subject to change due to weather,” even if it’s just rain? 🤔 Rain prevents concrete pouring and curing, excavation and utility work, grading, and can pose safety risks to crews.
