🌀 STORM PREP: Pool • Hot Tub • Backyard
We’re not saying the “H” word! 🤞 But whatever the weather brings, let’s be prepared! Here are a few reminders from Coastal Livin’ Pools to help get your backyard ready:

✅ Secure loose items. Bring in patio furniture, umbrellas, cushions, pool toys, floats, and portable pool accessories. Store furniture safely—not in the pool, where it can damage the finish.
✅ Don’t drain your pool to make room for rain. The water’s weight helps protect the pool against pressure from saturated ground.
✅ Secure your hot tub cover.
✅ Store chemicals safely.
✅ Protect your equipment. If flooding is possible, turn off pool and spa equipment at the appropriate breakers before conditions become unsafe. Never approach electrical equipment or operate a breaker while standing in water.
✅ Put people before pool prep. When you hear thunder, get out of the pool or hot tub and head indoors.
After the storm: Stay out of flood-contaminated water. Have the pool cleaned and its water tested and balanced before swimming again. If electrical equipment was flooded, leave the power off until a qualified electrician has inspected it—looking dry isn’t enough. CDC
