I heard this concept in a bible study this morning and it really did speak volumes.

A pond can only hold so much water, it gets stagnant, while a river flows endless waters, that remain fresh and steady flowing.

The contrast between a contained pond and a flowing river mirrors biblical metaphors of human limitation versus divine abundance.

Scripture often uses stagnant pools or broken cisterns to represent finite human effort, while continuous rivers symbolize the endless life and grace of the Spirit.

Biblical Water Metaphors.

A Pond / Cistern

Represents trapped or limited resources.

Jeremiah 2:13 contrasts God with “broken cisterns that cannot hold water”.

The River / Living Water.

Represents constant divine supply.

John 7:38 promises “rivers of living water” flowing from within believers.

The Growing Stream.

Ezekiel 47:5 describes a life-giving temple river that deepens from an ankle-high stream to water that cannot be crossed.

May His Endless River of Life, His Living Waters, continue to flow through you, His love is never ending, my friends❤️🌿

Come Lord Jesus, Come

Stop, Pause.

To turn off the noise of the world and focus on worshiping Jesus Christ, anchor your heart in stillness and truth.

Scriptures for Stillness and Focus.

Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

Remove the chaos to recognize His sovereignty.

1 Kings 19:11-12
“God was not in the great wind, earthquake, or fire, but came in a gentle, quiet whisper.”

John 10:27
“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

Jesus cuts through confusion with personal peace.

True Worship.

Romans 12:1
“Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

Psalm 66:4
“All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You, they sing praise to Your name.”

Hebrews 13:15
“Continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God through Jesus, the fruit of lips that confess His name.”

Some day, we will be glad we did stop and pause to anchor our hearts, minds, and souls to Him in worship.

He is worthy of our time in worship.

He is God. The One that truly love us. He has called us for His purpose in Christ Jesus.

No thing, nor no one, in this world, is more important than time spent in worship with Him each day❤️🌿

He alone is the anchor of our soul, our heart, our mind, my friends ❤️🌿

Come Lord Jesus, Come

Paul knew the struggle.

We know the struggle.

Paul says:

Oh wretched man that i am, who will deliver me from this body of sin, i thank God through Jesus Christ.

This verse is Romans 7:24–25 from the Bible.

It shows the human struggle with doing wrong and the hope found in God.

Romans 7 verses 24 and 25. Apostle Paul’s core Message to us.

Human weakness in the flesh versus the Spirit and the victory is through Jesus Christ.

The Struggle is Real.

Paul talks about wanting to do good, but still fighting everyday human faults and weakness.

Just like us.

The Cry.

He asks who can save him from this weak, mortal state (“body of death”).

The Answer.

He thanks God that freedom and rescue come through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Like Paul, we give thanks to God through Jesus Christ, for rescuing us from this struggle while living in this earthly body of sinful flesh.

We can also find assurance and comfort in Christ Jesus’ mighty works of salvation, as Paul found and experienced in the Holy Spirit of God.

This is probably , i’d say, my favorite scripture.

It takes Jesus Christ to deliver this old wretched man from this body of sin.

God is well aware of our struggles with sin.

We can hide nothing from Him.

Yet, He has proven His love for sinners like me and You.

He simply encourages us to trust Him through Jesus Christ’ Holy Spirit.

To continue to look to Him, even as we struggle through the ugly thoughts, words, and deeds of the flesh and its desires.

He truly loves us, even in the struggle, my friends❤️🌿

Come Lord Jesus, Come

Though it may seem you may have failed, God will never fail, so keep sowing seeds.

This truth is a profound biblical principle.

While human strength and efforts are temporary and can falter, God’s promises and purposes endure forever.

Your work in “sowing seeds” (whether through faith, kindness, or sharing His word) is never in vain because God is the one who ultimately brings the harvest.

Key Scriptures on Sowing and God’s Faithfulness.

Galatians 6:9
Encourages believers not to grow weary in well-doing, promising that a harvest will come if you do not give up.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7
Reminds us that while we may plant the seeds and others water them, it is God who provides the increase and makes things grow.

Lamentations 3:22-23
A beautiful reminder that the steadfast love and faithfulness of the Lord never cease, and His mercies are new every morning.

The Parable of the Sower

Jesus used agricultural metaphors to explain this exact concept.

In Matthew 13, the seed represents the Word of God, and the soil represents the hearts of people.

As a sower, your responsibility is to faithfully scatter the seeds; you do not need to carry the burden of making them grow—that is entirely God’s work.

The Ultimate Promise.

No matter the outcome of your immediate circumstances, God’s word guarantees that what is planted in His name will not return empty.

God’s work remains, forever.

Amen.

So do not be discouraged about the work you have done for God’s Kingdom. You may never see the evidence of what God has done or accomplished through your life while on earth, but some glad day, He will reward you for your obedience and dedication to His work in planting for the harvest.

Matthew 24:31
“And he will send out his angels with the mighty blast of a trumpet, and they will gather his chosen ones from all over the world—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.”

You have not sown seeds in vein.

God will one day reward you for your work in His Kingdom.

Love others into His Kingdom through His mighty works and deeds through you.

Come Lord Jesus, Come

He that began a good work in you will carry you to completion.

This famous promise is found in Philippians 1:6, where the Apostle Paul expresses his confidence that God, who started the work of salvation and faith in your life, will faithfully continue and finish it until the day of Christ Jesus.

Paul says:
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Philippians 1:6 NLT

The Bible powerfully assures believers that not only is Jesus faithful to the end, but He will also empower you to remain faithful.

Key scriptures exploring this promise include:

Philippians 1:6
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Hebrews 3:14
“For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”

Revelation 2:10
“Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”

1 Corinthians 1:8
“He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

So, no matter what this world dishes out to you, never give up hope that is in Him alone, remain focused with faith in Jesus. He alone will deliver us through this world and its troubles of life. Through the good or bad, He is faithful to us. He loves us and will carry us home, some glad day. Be encouraged in Jesus, my friends.

Come Jesus Come
