When should you actually put the garden hose away? 🛑💦
A common mistake homeowners make is stopping the water as soon as the weather gets chilly. But trees, especially evergreens are still actively growing roots and losing moisture during the fall!
The Rule of Thumb: Keep watering your trees deeply and slowly once a week until the ground completely freezes solid (which usually doesn't happen until late November or early December in the Omaha area).
Don't let your trees go into winter thirsty. A well-watered tree is a healthy tree that will resist "winter burn" and survive the harsh Nebraska winds! 🌲❄️
