The water may be gone, but the moisture can remain.
After the recent flooding, removing standing water is only part of the cleanup. Water can soak into flooring, drywall, wood, insulation, and other building materials, creating conditions where mold can begin to grow if those materials stay wet.
That’s why properly drying a flooded basement is so important. Removing damaged materials when necessary, controlling humidity, and drying the structure helps address the moisture you can’t always see.
