Salt damage hides all winter and shows up in spring.

The sodium in deicing salt gets into the soil, and roots struggle to pull water. You see it as brown spots and dead patches along the drive, burned leaf tips, and branches dying back on shrubs.

Use less salt, and start at the first snow. A light layer mixed with gravel still gives traction. Check the bag: calcium chloride or calcium magnesium acetate is easier on your plants than rock salt. And do not pile snow in the same spot all winter.

Omaha city limits reminder: clear your sidewalk within 24 hours after the city declares plowing complete, and never push snow back into the street.

Less salt now means less to fix in spring. If you want it handled, snow or spring repair, that is what we do.

Another Omaha transformation in the books.

When Andrea and Brad reached out, they had a simple list: clean up the front and side yard, make it safer to walk up to after dark, and get it looking great before family came to visit.

Here's everything our crew put in:
• A sawn Cottonwood limestone retaining wall built around the mature tree out front
• Matching limestone edging to tie it together
• Beds cleared out and finished with fresh black mulch
• Privacy trees planted along the side of the home
• A few dwarf Alberta spruces near the garage
• New boxwoods
• Full landscape lighting

The lighting is what really changed the place. Pulling up at night now, the whole home glows.
