A durable concrete floor starts long before the final finish is applied.

One of the most important early steps is properly preparing and filling the control joints. In this project, we're running a joint saw through each control joint to clean and prepare it for polyurea joint fill.

Why does it matter? Those joints take a beating from daily forklift traffic, pallet jacks, carts, and equipment movement. Filling them helps protect the slab edges from chipping and deterioration, extending the life of the floor and reducing future maintenance.

Whether the final result is a polished concrete floor or a sealed concrete surface, taking the time to prepare and fill the joints correctly lays the foundation for long-term performance.

The details may not be the most visible part of the process, but they're often the reason a floor continues performing years down the road.
