Last week, our ServiceOne team had the privilege of installing a brand-new heating and cooling system for Vietnam veteran Ellery "Mike" Hogan and his wife, Maxine.
Mike, 81, proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Today, he and Maxine continue to serve their community by working part-time with the Douglas County Election Commission.
For more than two years, they had been living without central air conditioning, relying on a small window unit in their bedroom. With Mike living with a pacemaker and Maxine battling a lung condition, the summer heat had become more than just uncomfortable. It was affecting their health. Living on a fixed income, replacing their HVAC system simply wasn't possible.
When one of our installers, Ryley, learned about their situation, he asked if there was a way ServiceOne could help. That conversation quickly turned into action.
ServiceOne donated the equipment and materials, and members of our installation team volunteered their own time to give Mike and Maxine the comfort they deserved.
This project wasn't just about installing a new system. It was about honoring a veteran, caring for our neighbors, and showing what can happen when compassionate people come together to make a difference.
We're incredibly proud of our team for making this possible and grateful to Mike and Maxine for allowing us to be part of their story. ๐
