Last week, members of the Dicon team rolled up their sleeves and participated in Brush Up!

We were proud to join volunteers from across the community to help local homeowners with exterior painting and home improvements. It was a great day of teamwork, giving back and making a difference right here in our community.

Thank you to Brush Up for organizing another great event and for the work you do throughout the Omaha area. We’re always glad to be a part of it.

The first round of leasing is well underway at The Bungalows on Honeysuckle. Tenants are moving in while progress continues on all fronts. Once complete, this build to rent community will contain 256 homes.

What's Above the Ceiling?

Most people will never see a large part of what goes into constructing a commercial building.

Above the finished ceiling is a carefully coordinated network of ductwork, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and other building systems. Getting all of those systems installed in the same space — and making sure they remain accessible for future maintenance — takes planning and coordination long before the ceiling goes in.

It's one of those parts of construction that disappears when the project is finished, but getting it right makes a big difference.

Demolition has begun at the Motor Inn Garage, marking the start of the next chapter for this historic Omaha property.

Located within a historic district along Leavenworth Street, the Motor Inn Garage is part of an intact cluster of commercial buildings associated with Omaha’s early streetcar network. The Leavenworth Street streetcar line operated from 1889 to 1947 and played an important role in the growth and development of the surrounding neighborhood.

The district’s one- and two-story commercial buildings, constructed primarily between 1916 and approximately 1940, reflect the modest architectural styles that were common in Omaha during the early twentieth century.

As demolition and construction move forward, we’re proud to be part of a project that connects Omaha’s history with the continued redevelopment of the Leavenworth Street corridor.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone as we officially broke ground on Phase Two of the The Salvation Army Western Division Plains Camp in South Sioux City.

We're honored to partner with The Salvation Army, the design team, and everyone involved to help bring this vision to life. This next phase will add a new pavilion, chapel, classrooms, challenge course, camping center, tabernacle, and other amenities that will serve campers and the community for generations to come.

At Dicon, we take pride in building projects that make a lasting impact, and this is one we're especially proud to be part of. Thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday's groundbreaking possible. We look forward to sharing construction progress in the months ahead.
