From bare subfloor to showstopper. 🏡✨
This one started as 2,200 sq ft of raw OSB and a few hundred bundles of wood stacked and waiting. By the time we were done, it was one of our favorite installs yet.
We hand-laid 5" live sawn white oak, run wall-to-wall on a bold 45-degree angle. Live sawn boards show off more of the tree's natural character than plain-sawn — every plank has its own grain, knots, and movement, so the floor never looks flat or repetitive. Running it on the diagonal isn't the easy way (more cuts, more waste, more math on every row), but it's what gives a big open room like this its wow factor — your eye just keeps traveling across it.
Board by board, cut by cut, we will return later for a full sand and finish on this beauty
