Most homes need more than one kind of work before winter hits: a system checked, an aging panel, maybe a room that's never been comfortable. Most people end up calling three or four different companies to cover it all.

Frost usually shows up around here by the second week of October. Most years, nobody thinks about their heating system until the first really cold morning, and by then everyone's calling at once.

Ductless doesn't need a seasonal start-up like an old oil furnace. Flip the mode on the remote, and it just works. But it still helps to have someone look at it before the cold sets in, especially if this last summer had it running hard.

Most homeowners don't know what to look for in a ductless install until something goes wrong. So here's what right looks like.

The line-hide running up the wall is straight and secured, not zip-tied to whatever was nearby. The disconnect box is wired cleanly at the panel. The unit sits level on its pad, with room around it to breathe. None of this is flashy. That's the point. A good install is the kind you stop noticing.

If your outdoor unit looks nothing like this, it's worth having someone take a look.

Your ductless system asks for two things: a clean filter and clear airflow. Give it both, and it'll run efficiently for years. Skip them, and you'll notice it working harder than it should.

Here's the actual split. Once a month, pop the filter cover, slide the filters out, rinse them under the sink, let them dry, and slide them back in. Wipe down the indoor unit and grille when they need it, and keep leaves and debris off the outdoor unit.

Twice a year, spring and fall, that's when you call a pro. Safety inspection, tightening electrical connections, checking airflow settings- the parts you can't easily get to yourself. Our Peace of Mind Plan covers that twice-a-year visit if you'd rather not think about scheduling it.

This homeowner had already paid another company thousands trying to fix a ductless system that never worked right. Still broken. That's when they called us.

Cory walks through what our crew actually found: a line set with way more joints than it should have, a refrigerant charge leaked down to a fraction of what it needed, and one problem we genuinely did not expect. Watch the video for that one.

By the time everything was fixed right, the homeowner had spent more than a proper install would have cost from the start.
