This morning, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation celebrated the grand opening of the new Memphis Veterans Village.

Our Commercial Construction team was honored to perform the landscaping work for general contractor Grace Construction Company, Inc., which transformed the former WoodSpring Suites on Riverdale Bend Road into supportive housing for displaced veterans. We installed sod, plants, and irrigation to help create a welcoming outdoor space for the veterans who will soon call this place home.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was established to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on 9/11. The organization also honors military service members and, to date, has provided housing assistance and access to supportive services to over 17,500 veterans and their families through its Veterans Villages across the country.

Fresh Bermuda is officially going in at this new multifamily build on Anderson Road in Oxford! Our Landscape Construction crews are laying it down and transforming the site, one roll at a time. What a difference green grass makes in turning a construction zone into a place people will soon call home. We can’t wait to see this property fully dressed and move-in ready!

This morning, as teachers at our adopted school prepared to kick off the 2026-2027 school year, they were reminded of a powerful “Hatcherism” from our Founder. Using the analogy of mixing water with bagged concrete mix, Michael Hatcher explained how the teachers at Center Hill High School in Olive Branch, Mississippi, are pouring into their students to create a strong foundation. We’re proud to partner with CHHS teachers as they shape our community’s young people, and we appreciate the good and valuable work they do.

We can’t keep this secret any longer! Caleb Ratcliffe, an Account Manager at the Memphis Branch of Michael Hatcher & Associates for the past three years, has been promoted to Business Development Manager. The move is a natural progression for Caleb, who first joined MHA in September 2020 as an Irrigation Technician, then trained as a Field Operations Manager before moving into account management in 2023.

“I’m really grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given here,” Caleb says. “My experience working in the field and alongside our Landscape Specialists, as well as my understanding of what our Commercial Maintenance customers need, have helped me grow into this role. I’m looking forward to continuing to build and maintain strong relationships that put our customers and their properties first.”

Shoutout to Ernesto and his crew from Commercial Maintenance, who were out in the Southwind community this morning giving these flower beds a good pruning to keep the plants healthy and looking their best.

Pruning is part of our regular routine for seasonal color, but we made sure to get it done ahead of the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship that will take place August 12-16 at TPC Southwind. The coleus and sunpatiens will look fresh and ready for all the extra attention coming to the area.
