Meet Scott Boxx, Project Manager at Shack Built.

Scott grew up in the construction industry, helping his father, a roofing contractor, with projects from a young age. After years of working through winter chill and summer heat, he decided to take his construction experience indoors and focus on remodeling.

Today, Scott brings more than 20 years of remodeling and renovation experience to the Shack Built team, with a strong background in kitchen and bathroom remodels.

When he is not managing projects, Scott is usually cheering on his favorite sports teams and spending time with his wife and three adult children.

We are grateful to have Scott as part of the Shack Built team!

Every remodel comes with its own set of challenges, but the right team makes all the difference.

This client’s home addition began at the same time as COVID, bringing supply chain delays, subcontractor challenges, permitting issues, and constant changes along the way.

Through it all, the Shack Built team stayed focused on communication, problem-solving, and guiding the client through each phase of the process.

Even when the news was not ideal, our goal was to keep the client informed, help them make smart decisions, and continue moving the project forward with care and attention to detail.

Project Feature: Mid-Century Modern Bathroom

This Prairie Village bathroom remodel is a great example of how thoughtful design can completely change the way a space feels and functions.

Originally a small 1950s mid-century modern bathroom, this project included a small bump-out that added 30 square feet of space, creating a more comfortable and functional primary bath.

The old cast-iron tub was replaced with a new walk-in shower, the entry was updated with a pocket door to save space, and the toilet was relocated to improve the overall flow of the room.

One of our favorite details is the wood ceiling, designed to complement the vaulted paneled ceilings throughout the rest of the main level.

The result is a bathroom that honors the character of the home while making the space work better for modern living.
