Oklahoma wind doesn't care about your shielding gas.

That's why stick welding still earns its spot. The flux on the rod makes its own shield, so a gust that would blow MIG or TIG gas off the puddle barely slows a stick welder down. It's our go-to for field repairs, fence and pipe work, and anything outside the shop.

In the shop, our Oklahoma state and bridge certified welders run MIG, TIG, flux core, spool gun, and stick, whatever the job calls for.

Welding fun fact: the first weld in space happened in October 1969. Cosmonaut Valeri Kubasov ran a welding experiment aboard Soyuz 6 to see if metal could be joined in a vacuum, in zero gravity. It worked.

Plasma fact: the arc at a torch tip can hit around 20,000°C — several times hotter than the surface of the sun.

That’s the heat that lets CNC plasma melt through plate and clear the kerf in one pass. We run that every day on our 300A Hi-Def table — up to 2" steel, with etching when the nest needs part marks.
