Your fence and landscaping should be planned together.
It’s something homeowners don’t always think about until they’re working on both projects at the same time, but the order matters.
Installing the fence first gives your landscaper a defined space to work within and makes it easier to plan beds, trees, irrigation, edging, and other features around the finished fence line. It can also help prevent a brand-new landscape from being disturbed when crews need access to install posts and fencing later.
This project is a great example. The ornamental fence establishes the boundary without visually closing off the property, while the landscaping follows the fence line and makes the entire space feel intentional.
If a backyard renovation, new landscaping, or outdoor living project is in your plans, bring your fence contractor into the conversation early. A little coordination between trades can make a big difference in how smoothly the project comes together.
And if the fence comes first, you know who to call. 😉
