Throwback Thursday- Back to 2014, Al Slattery Masonry completed Offices at Market Center in Oklahoma City, OK. The scope of work consisted of 40,000 Architectural CMU. This project completed on schedule and safely lead by one of our great partners at Clyde Riggs Construction.

Workforce Wednesday

For the past three weeks, ASMI has had the opportunity to work with second-year Construction Management students at the University of Oklahoma’s Haskell and Irene Lemon Division of Construction Science Fundamentals Lab.

Students participated in basic masonry fundamentals, including laying block, brick, and installing masonry accessories. This hands-on experience gives students a better understanding of the work that goes into masonry construction and the skills required in the field.

The projects they are building will eventually be completed with the involvement of multiple other trades, giving students a firsthand look at how different trades come together on a construction project.

This marks ASMI’s 6th year participating in the program, which has grown to more than 80 students! We are proud to continue supporting the next generation of construction professionals and giving them an opportunity to experience masonry firsthand.

A special thank you to Zack Easley and Terry Clinefelter for continuing to include ASMI in this program over the past six years. We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to coming back next year!

G is for Grout

Masonry Monday

Not every project has to be a big one to be important.

This week, our team is working on sign bases in Norman, Oklahoma for GS Signs. We probably build around 20 sign bases a year, and while they may be smaller projects, they get the same attention, expertise, and quality workmanship as our larger jobs.

These bases feature split-face CMU supplied by Best Block

Whether it’s a small sign base or a large commercial masonry project, the ASMI team has the experience, equipment, and people to take care of it.

Masonry Monday | First Family Residence

We’re excited to share an update from the First Family Residence project for Lingo Construction Services .

Our team, led by ASMI Foreman Ray Habiger, has now moved into installing the natural limestone panels supplied by US Stone Industries . The limestone is bringing another great masonry element to this unique project, and we look forward to sharing more as it continues to take shape.

The team has been doing a great job pushing through the extreme Oklahoma heat while continuing to work safely and maintain the quality expected on this project.

We appreciate Ray and the entire crew for their hard work and commitment to getting the job done right.
