Bockus Payne Architecture Collective. Thoughtful. Dynamic.

Architecture. Interiors. Planning In 1987, Bruce L. Bockus founded Bruce L. Bockus Architect. David K. (BPAA) was founded.

Payne joined the firm in 1991 and in 1993 Bockus Payne Associates Architects, P.C. Since that year, BPAA has made steady growth from a staff of three to a current staff in the twenties. Our diverse background and team approach has allowed BPAA to grow in both knowledge and experience so as to provide each client and project a personalized touch of professionalism and design. Since 1993, our firm has had the opportunity to be involved in project types from commercial office buildings and complexes, to religious and educational facilities, to hospitality and retail, to large custom residential homes, and facilities and exhibits at the Oklahoma City Zoo. We look forward to the challenges each project presents and to the new and continued relationships we have built.

Bockus Payne partnered with Francis Tuttle Technology Center to design a new facility housing Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Technician training programs, along with Project HOPE, Francis Tuttle’s alternative education program.

The new facility is designed to support both the academic and technical sides of the program, with flexible learning spaces and dedicated training environments that reflect real-world career settings. Bringing these programs together creates a setting where students can complete their education while gaining practical experience and developing a clear path forward.

A first look at Oklahoma City’s first MAPS 4 Youth Center, now officially underway at Woodson Park.

New renderings highlight the exterior, two-court gymnasium, reception area and youth spaces planned throughout the 48,370-square-foot facility. Designed as a welcoming and flexible environment for learning, recreation and connection, the center will also include classrooms, youth lounges, teaching kitchens, performing arts studios, and spaces for workforce development and community events.

Operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County, the new Woodson Park Youth Center is anticipated to open in 2028.

The design is centered on creating a place that feels open, energetic and welcoming—using architecture to connect programs, encourage interaction and give Oklahoma City’s youth a space that feels distinctly their own.

Excited to share the new Oklahoma Federal Credit Union Headquarters along Lincoln Boulevard. The design reflects transparency, warmth, and strength while creating a strong presence for OFCU in the Lincoln corridor. Natural materials, clear sightlines, and connected gathering spaces support both the member experience and the OFCU team. Proud to see this one come to life for a client committed to its community.

Learn More - Link In Bio.

We’re proud to celebrate Cara Sutton, Designer, for being selected as one of only ten designers nationwide to participate in the Carnegie Fabrics x Metropolis Magazine Changemaker Experience.

“Being one of only ten interior designers and architects chosen from over 400 applicants is an incredible honor. It reinforces my belief in design’s power to drive meaningful change.”
Through workshops, studio tours, and thought-provoking discussions on sustainability and transparency, Cara gained insights she’s bringing back to our team—integrating the “Design for Freedom” and “Changemaker Framework” principles into how we approach ethical material sourcing.

Her experience is a reflection of our firm’s belief that design should elevate communities and create lasting, positive impact.
