Got solar panels on your roof and just went through a storm?👇👀‼️🚨Here's what you need to know.

When hail or high winds damage a roof with solar panels, the process gets a little more involved. The panels need to be safely removed before any roofing work can happen, then reinstalled after the new roof goes on. That means coordinating between your roofer, your solar provider, and your insurance company.

A few tips to make it smoother:

1. Get your roof inspected first. Don't assume the panels protected everything underneath. Hail can crack panels AND damage the roof below them.

2. File your insurance claim early. Let your adjuster know about the solar setup so they can account for removal and reinstallation costs.

3. Work with a roofer who has experience handling solar panel jobs. Not every crew knows how to coordinate the removal safely without voiding your solar warranty.
