Okeechobee - THANK YOU 🤍

Being voted 2026 Best of the Lake — Best Home Builder means more to us than we can put into words. Every vote, every referral, every client who has trusted us with their home, and every person who has supported Competent Builders along the way — we are so grateful.

We’ve worked hard, learned a lot, grown tremendously, and we’re incredibly proud of what we’re building here in our community.

And the best part? We are just getting started.

Here’s to bigger dreams, beautiful homes, and everything still ahead. 🏡✨

From vision, to plan, to reality.

Craddock Residence progress 🤎

This home is getting GOOD.

The upstairs bonus room officially has carpet, the gorgeous checkerboard tile is going in, and those REAL timber beams are every bit as heavy as they look. 😂

Downstairs, the tongue-and-groove ceiling paired with those same wood beams is one of our favorite details in this home. And yes… all those boxes mean cabinet installation starts this week! 🙌🏼

It’s always fun getting to this stage of a build, when all the finishes we’ve been planning for months finally start showing up in the space.

Checkerboard tile: Edward Martin 🖤🤍

More progress coming soon. 🔨✨

Electricians on site ⚡️
Well going in out back 💧
AC guys working inside ❄️
And Luis? Boots on the ground, keeping it all moving. 👷🏽‍♂️

This is what production looks like. 😏🏠🔨

Another custom home is taking shape! 🏡✨

This thoughtfully designed home will feature approximately 4,000 total square feet, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a connected oversized carport, and an exterior-access half bath—perfect for the back patio and outdoor living.

We can’t wait to watch this one come together!🔨

In the meantime, make sure you continue supporting this wonderful family by grabbing lunch or dinner at Los Hornitos—the best authentic Mexican food in town! 🌮🤤

HOME SWEET HOME 🏡🤍

Two weeks ago, we officially handed this one over to a beautiful family that we have absolutely come to adore. 🥰

There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching a set of plans become a home — but even more so when you know the people who will be making their memories inside of it.

From the polished concrete floors and stone fireplace to that kitchen, the gorgeous tile work, custom showers and all the little details throughout… we loved watching their vision come to life.

We’re so grateful they trusted Competent Builders to build the place they now get to call home.

The building part may be finished, but the best part is just beginning. ❤️

Welcome home. 🔑🏡

She’s starting to come together. 🖤

This is one of our favorite stages of a custom build — when the drywall goes up and suddenly you can really start to see the home that’s been hiding inside all that framing.

There’s still plenty to come — paint, doors, trim and all those details that will completely transform these spaces — but we’re loving watching the vision begin to take shape.

Can’t wait to show you what’s next.

I shot this video a few weeks ago, and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to brag on our trades. 🙌

We’ve officially moved beyond the rough-in stage, exterior stucco is underway, and drywall begins next week.

Before the walls go up and all of this craftsmanship disappears, we want to recognize the incredible trades who make it all possible. Day after day, they work tirelessly in the Florida heat, bringing skill, precision, and pride to every phase of this custom home.

A huge thank you to our slab crew, masonry team, electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, the gas company, and our framers. Your dedication and craftsmanship are the foundation of every beautiful home we build.

At Competent Builders, we’re incredibly grateful to partner with professionals who consistently deliver exceptional work—even when most of it will never be seen once the home is complete.

Because the best craftsmanship is often hidden behind the walls. 👏🏡
