Vote for one, vote for them all! 2 weeks left! Help out the teachers, they deserve it!

We want to say thank you to all of the teachers for your hard work all year. Being a teacher isn't the easiest job even though it is rewarding. Our teachers do their very best to leave their knowledge behind in our little ones. They keep our children safe, entertained and make them feel important. And we can't forget they help us raise them. They don't only deal with just our kids, its everyone's at once! That takes a lot of love and patience. Part of who our children become are about who they spend time with. Our teachers influence our children more than we realize.

As a thank you to the teachers, we would like to donate a free cleaning to help them settle into their home to have a relaxing summer after the school year.

The end of the year is just a short distance away! Oakley only has 5 and a half weeks left!

Over the past two weeks, we have had the most random and strange technical difficulties. Even making this post my computer said error technical issue. And I thought it was over! We went from the printer not connecting to the laptop completely not working. Its back on! We just want to say thank you to the clients who are waiting on invoices and proposals from us. We appreciate the patience!

We are HIRING!! For an interior cleaning position! No Experience Necessary!

We are looking for a part-time team member. The position is for evenings through the week and weekend work.

The position can turn into full-time. Pay is up to $15 an hour during training. There will be a training period and a probationary period. We will have a pay increase after training has been completed, and another after the probationary period has been completed.

Below is the schedule for available hours: (As long as it is evening and weekend work, you can choose your start time. This is just to show what time work can begin.)

Monday - 5:15 PM - 7:15 PM
Tuesday - 4:45 PM - 6:45 PM
Wednesday - 4:45 PM - 7:45 PM
Thursday - 4:45 PM - 6:45 PM
Friday - 4:45 PM - 7:45PM (you can choose to not work Friday night and move this work to Saturday or Sunday)
Saturday - 8:30 AM - 3 PM
Sunday - 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (for Saturdays and Sundays you can choose what time you begin work) (The 8 hours I am showing for Sunday, would not be working Friday night)

The office is located in Ohio City and the cleaning jobs are located in Van Wert and Delphos.

YWCA of Van Wert County Receives $1M in Congressionally Directed Spending through Senator Jon Husted for New Facility, including Mercy Health Community Clinic

The Health and Human Services Appropriations Bill signed by President Trump on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, included a $1 million allocation to YWCA of Van Wert County to support construction of its new 30,000 square foot facility. YWCA of Van Wert County received these funds through Congressionally Directed Spending from Senator Jon Husted.

“We sincerely thank Senator Husted for securing $1 million for our capital campaign. This vital funding accelerates our efforts to build a new facility that will enhance services, increase access, and ensure a stronger future for our community.” President/CEO Kimberly Laudick.

In 2024, YWCA of Van Wert County launched a capital campaign to build a new facility that will meet the current and future needs of the greater Van Wert community. An emerging community need is health care, with Van Wert County designated a Health Professional Shortage Area. YWCA of Van Wert County’s new Community Clinic, in partnership with Mercy Health, will provide family medicine and specialty and behavioral health services to the general public and YWCA of Van Wert County clients and employees.

In addition to the Community Clinic, YWCA of Van Wert County’s new facility will include a Youth Wing to support underserved youth with the Summer Food Program and a new after-school program, which is not currently offered in Van Wert. YWCA of Van Wert County will continue to provide emergency and long-term shelter and wraparound support services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking in its Survivor Services Wing.
YWCA of Van Wert County’s Capital Campaign for a new facility has raised over $3 million in private funds. Total project cost is about $14 million, which is expected to include a combination of public, private, lending and tax credit dollars. YWCA of Van Wert County is grateful to Senator Jon Husted for his generous support of the project. YWCA of Van Wert County intends to break ground on its new facility in 2027.
