"Take the time to do it right, or spend the time to do it again." 🐜💼
The other day, I was wrapping up a service and walking back to the customer's front door for the out-brief. Just as I was closing up the truck, I caught something out of the corner of my eye: a small, hidden fire ant mound I hadn't noticed initially.
Right then, I was faced with a choice. I could:
1️⃣ Ignore it, finish the brief, and head out to my next stop.
2️⃣ Head back to the truck, unload the gear, and treat it properly.
Honestly? I know there are techs out there who would have kept walking. It’s easy to do when you're busy. But leaving that mound meant it would have blown up into a massive problem before their next scheduled service—or resulted in an unhappy customer and an avoidable callback.
Of course, I chose option two.
Doing the job right isn't just about what's easy in the moment; it’s about protecting the properties and families who trust us. A few extra minutes of effort today saves hours of headaches tomorrow.
To my customers: I’ve always got your back (and your yard)! 🛡️
To my fellow techs: Let's keep the standards high. Don't cut corners.
