Sustainability for the 2034 Olympic Games.
August 24, 2026 update.

In 2034, the Winter Olympic Games will again be hosted in the state of Utah.
The 2034 Olympic Committee has declared the 2034 Games to be “The Sustainable Games”.
Brendle Group – Olympics 2034 Sustainability
Snowbasin Ski Resort will again host the prestigious Olympic Alpine Skiing Events. As in 2002, as a long-tenured Certified Ski Instructor for Snowbasin, I am honored to have a front-row seat and guest guiding duties.
As a professional energy expert, I am compelled to share my expertise and help shape the games to honor the sustainability mandate, honor my community, and honor our planet.
In preparation, I’ve researched sustainability tied to the 2034 Olympics. The Brendle Group, based in Colorado, is the official sustainability partner. Their philosophy: leverage existing infrastructure, reduce environmental impact, embrace clean energy, and more.
Northern Utah is home to passionate expert sustainability leaders, and I am proud to count myself among them. The Olympics are a platform to showcase our efforts, attract media attention, engage citizens, educate, and raise the bar for sustainability in sports and large-scale media events.
My goal is to ensure that business leaders, government leaders, and the Brendle Group are aware of this local expertise and the energy we bring.
As an aerospace engineer, I worked to high standards of technical accuracy, integrity, and accountability. These principles apply to sustainability. No exaggerations or greenwashing. The Earth’s energy and pollution challenges cannot be resolved in eight short years. Utah has the opportunity to select a few key projects and demonstrate a path forward.
I propose four key objectives:
Inform – Report the sustainability efforts already underway here in Utah to Brendle, the Salt Lake Olympic Committee (SLOC), and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Collaborate – Work with Brendle, the IOC, SLOC, and others to define realistic, actionable goals.
Implement – Deliver solutions using local talent, local contractors, local workforce, and resources.
Inspire – Inspire the next generation to carry the Sustainability Torch into the future.
I hope this sparks a vibrant, collective conversation and action.
