💧 A Shoutout to the Guys Behind The O-Tex Standard

We want to take a moment to recognize two guys who play a huge role in representing O-Tex Irrigation every single day — Adrian and Eddy.

These guys are truly the faces of O-Tex in the field, and we’re proud to have them representing our company throughout West Texas.

What makes Adrian and Eddy great technicians isn’t just their ability to diagnose and repair irrigation systems. It’s how they take care of our customers.

They take the time to explain how a customer’s irrigation system works, show them exactly what problems they’ve found, explain why those problems are happening, and walk them through what needs to be done to correct them properly. We don’t want our customers left wondering what they’re paying for — education and communication are part of the service we provide.

Their professionalism, knowledge, workmanship, and commitment to doing things the right way are exactly what we want O-Tex Irrigation to stand for.

As the owner, I’m extremely appreciative of the work these two put in every day. Building a great company isn’t something one person does alone. It takes good people who care about their work, care about the customer, and take pride in the name on their shirt.

💧 CHEAPER UP FRONT CAN COST MORE LATER.

We recently completed another irrigation project and this one is a great example of why choosing a professional, licensed irrigator matters.

The existing irrigation system had been installed by someone who was not licensed, and the system was not designed around the available GPM (flow) and PSI (pressure).

The result? The zone demanded more water than the available supply could properly support. The system struggled to pressure up, and the plant material was left with poor and inconsistent coverage.

Our solution was to split the existing zone into two separate zones, adding another valve so each zone could operate within the available flow. We also changed the nozzles and adjusted the system to provide more appropriate coverage for the plant material.

The pictures show some of the work involved in correcting the original setup.

This is why irrigation design is about much more than gluing PVC together and installing sprinkler heads. Available flow, operating pressure, nozzle selection, precipitation rates, zoning, pipe sizing, and plant-water requirements all matter.

When you’re investing in a new irrigation system, make sure the person installing it is a licensed irrigation professional—not simply someone who says they can install sprinklers.

Doing it correctly the first time can save you from paying twice—once for the original installation and again for a licensed professional to come back and correct it.

NOW HIRING – TEMPORARY LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE HELP

O-Tex Irrigation is looking for 2 temporary W-2 employees to help our team catch up on our landscape maintenance workload.

Position Details:

* $16/hour
* Monday–Friday
* 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
* Weekends off
* Work throughout the Odessa/Midland area
* Temporary position with the possibility of additional work depending on workload

Requirements:

* Landscape maintenance experience required
* Must be comfortable with mowing, w**d eating, trimming, cleanup, and general landscape maintenance
* Irrigation repair and installation knowledge is preferred
* Must be dependable and show up on time
* Must be able to work outdoors in West Texas conditions
* Must be able to perform physical labor throughout the workday
* Must work well with a crew and follow direction
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to our meeting location preferred

We’re looking for people who know how to work, take pride in what they do, and can help our crews get the job done right.

This is a legitimate W-2 position — no cash/under-the-table work.

🚧 Another Busy Day in the Field for O-Tex Irrigation! 🌱💧

Today our crew is out at The Bridge church tackling a variety of irrigation challenges to keep this commercial property operating at its best.

✅ Troubleshooting a Hunter two-wire irrigation system to quickly diagnose and resolve a station fault.

✅ Installing a sediment filter on the property’s water well to help protect valves, sprinkler heads, and the entire irrigation system from debris and premature wear.

✅ Replacing several worn rotary nozzles to restore proper coverage, improve water efficiency, and keep the landscape looking its best.

Commercial irrigation systems require more than just replacing broken sprinkler heads—they require knowledge, experience, and the right tools to accurately diagnose problems and protect your investment.
