Please contact your local water purveyor before you go thinking. This is a reduced pressure principle assembly valve installed inside a meter box in the middle of a sidewalk. This device shall be installed 12”-36” from the bottom of the relief valve ABOVE GRADE.

It’s the first annual National Backflow Prevention Day!
“On this day in 1933, a backflow incident occurred at two popular hotels near the Chicago World’s Fair resulting in 98 deaths and 2,000 illnesses. The incident led to the founding of the Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research and to new safe plumbing regulations for backflow assemblies.”
We are proud to protect the water safety of our community!

The day recognizes the role of backflow prevention and cross-connection control and those who install, maintain, and test backflow preventers.

I spy with my little eye...a random piece of blue plastic that caused a device to fail! We never know what we will find inside a leaking device. Luckily, Adam was able to remove it & install a new rubber repair kit and it's working like new again!
