On Cloud 9: THE CLOUD HOUSE ☁️

Three awards. 🏆🏆🏆 One very special project.

I’m incredibly proud to share that one of my favorite projects to date received three recognitions at the IDS National Conference & Designer of the Year Awards Gala.

First Place — Whole Home, New Build
First Place — Wellness Space
First Runner-Up — Primary Bedroom

What makes this especially meaningful is that each award recognizes a different part of the same sophisticated and serene home…a project rooted in calm, wellness, artistry, craftsmanship, and thoughtful details.

It was pure joy for me to bring The Cloud House to life 🤍

And NOW it’s so cool to see the work recognized on a national stage. What a privilege! And it’s even more rewarding to celebrate my AMAZING clients and, of course, the great people and collaboration behind it.

Some projects are special from the very beginning. This is one I’ll always be proud of.

Amsterdam’s charm lies in its constant motion…with canals flowing through, bicycles passing, and people strolling and engaging at outdoor cafes.
The architecture is beautiful and rich in character. We experienced a city that’s vibrant and full of energy despite record heat!
My son and I were there mainly to see the University of Amsterdam, where we are very proud that he was accepted into their prestigious psychology program. He has ultimately decided to take a different course of study but it was so impressive and we hope he’ll come back to study there someday.
We also saw the Anne Frank and Van Gogh museums, walked and biked across the whole city and took an evening canal cruise.
A highlight was a photography exhibit of Ed Van Der Elsken’s work at the Rijksmuseum. This inspired my black and white photos 😊
Until next time, Amsterdam. Thank you for the beautiful visual feast, sweet memories with my boy, and the creative boost I needed.

Wrapping up an inspiring few days High Point Market ✨ held in High Point, North Carolina and known as the largest home furnishings show in the world.

This massive event takes over the town and you can feel the energy the minute you arrive. Thousands of brands pull out all the stops, and designers show up in force rocking their unique fashions. It’s a feast for the eyes on many levels 🤩

I’m leaving with fresh ideas, incredible new vendor connections, and so much momentum for upcoming projects. I also
connected with dear old friends and made meaningful new bonds.

It has been educational, fun and a necessary creative reset all rolled into one.

Special thanks to my design community for being the best home base (and the best pals). And thanks to for feeding this designer’s soul.

I’ve always said that this picture that sits on my desk captures the happiest day of my life. It was taken 21 years ago today when you came into our world and changed us forever.

The joy you have brought us since is immeasurable. It’s so cool to be your Mom. So rewarding. I love you, and I respect and deeply admire you as a person. It’s amazing to see you seizing life, constantly striving to grow and better yourself, setting goals and achieving them.

You truly are a bright light.

Keep dreaming. Keep joking. Stay kind. And know that you are so loved my sweet baby James. Happy 21st birthday!
