A Proud Moment for the Granite Corp Family
This week I had the privilege of representing Granite Corp at the PHCC Insurance, Safety & Risk Management Committee Meeting held at Federated Insurance's Corporate Headquarters in Owatonna, Minnesota.
During the meeting, Federated shared the Granite Corp safety video that many of you have seen. Watching our company's story being presented in front of industry leaders from across the country was truly a proud and humbling moment. It was a reminder that the work being recognized isn't done in a boardroom—it's done every day by the men and women who put on their boots, head to the jobsite, and choose to work safely.
This recognition really began back in 2024, when Granite Corp was honored with the Federated Insurance / PHCC Safety Award at the PHCC CONNECT Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since then, Federated has continued to recognize Granite's commitment to safety, even featuring our story in their national annual report and recently sharing it with more than 3,000 Federated employees across the country.
While I was in Owatonna this week, I had the opportunity to meet several of the people who have supported Granite over the years, including Nikki Manges from Federated's Granite Re Bonding team. It was great to finally meet in person and see firsthand the relationships that have helped support our company along the way.
As proud as I was to see Granite recognized, what made me even prouder was knowing who deserves the credit.
A tremendous thank you goes to Dan Mack, whose leadership, dedication, and passion for safety have helped build the culture we have today. Dan has spent countless hours developing our safety program, training our team, improving our processes, and making sure every employee has the tools and knowledge to go home safely each day. This recognition is a direct reflection of that commitment.
To every Granite employee—thank you. Safety isn't something that happens because of one person or one policy. It happens because every individual makes the decision, every day, to look out for one another, follow our procedures, and never compromise when it comes to going home safely.
We also want to recognize the families behind our employees. Your support, encouragement, and sacrifices make what we do possible. We know that every morning you trust us to help your loved ones return home safely, and we never take that responsibility lightly.
On behalf of Dan, Mike, and myself, thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. We are incredibly proud of what Granite has accomplished, but even more excited about where we're headed. We'll continue striving to improve, raise the bar, and build a culture where safety is more than a program—it's simply who we are.
Finally, we'd like to thank Federated Insurance and the PHCC for recognizing Granite Corp and for their continued commitment to promoting safety throughout our industry. We truly appreciate the partnership and the opportunity to share our story.
Congratulations to the entire Granite Corp family—this recognition belongs to every one of you.
