Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plan your next staycation . This Inn is designed to feel like a home away from home. The furnishings and artwork fit effortlessly together, giving the impression they have been collected over time. Deep care and research went into sourcing local artwork for the hotel’s gallery walls found in both the lounge and dining room.

Humans of Arcsine | Originally from Fresno, CA, Melissa Petersen is Arcsine’s talented Senior Designer and has lived in the Bay Area for almost 20 years. Working on a previous home renovation sparked her interest in interior design. Shortly after, she took classes to achieve a Certificate in Interior Design and Interior Architecture at UC Berkeley Extension. And after a pivotal trip to South America, she decided to commit to her certificate and proceed with a career change in design. She loves that Arcsine has so many local projects, allowing her to enjoy the spaces she has worked on. Melissa loves to travel; however, she just had a baby, so at the moment she loves spending her time exploring new parks and looking for fun outdoor activities on the weekend.

The exploration of color, iridescence, light and the concept of movement served as central themes for the overall design of our latest project . This golden ceiling finish bestows the space with a perpetual glow, taking inspiration from the golden wheat fields in the Occitanie region.

One of the highlights of renovating this former two-story clutch-repair shop into a three-story contemporary home was designing this indoor lap pool and “wellness floor” complete with a dry sauna and steam shower. A three-story glass atrium found in the ceiling connects the pool to the floors above.

The Bar at LB Steak,located in San Jose, is something to behold. Industrial details such as the Banker Wire mesh highlights the elegant sconces. Inspired by cattle ranchers' apparel, the 6,000-square-foot restaurant elevates the classic steak house experience.

In the summer of 2015, the founding principals of Arcsine, Daniel Scovill and Adam Winig, decided it was high time to create something lasting within their community. Most recently, Arcsine worked with McClymonds High School on a weekly basis to teach a senior class the basic tenets within the architecture and design fields, where they learned how to draft and design their own chicken coop.

Proud to announce our latest project in collaboration with Chef Paul Canales, Occitania is now open! The new restaurant’s design and menu were heavily inspired by the Occitan linguistic region, which covers southern France, the alpine region of Italy’s Piemonte, and Spain’s Catalonia. The Arcsine team worked closely with Chef Canales to capture the sensation of this region, utilizing native poetry to guide the initial design concept.
