As 2026 is marching towards a close, I’m probably maxed out on remaining deck builds for the 2026 calendar year. I’ll start booking for Spring/Summer 2027. This is a great time to save, plan, and get paperwork taken care of since that usually slows down start times for a deck build.

Every town is different but I take care of all that paperwork for you with permits. Reach out if your deck is in need of an upgrade so you can enjoy it safely in 2027 and beyond

The cold weather is a great time to tackle furniture builds, trim work, wood beams, closet doors, cabinetry, built ins, mud rooms, laundry rooms, mantles etc.

There’s several ways to put up floating shelves to hide hardware.

This is pretty simple and effective for small shelves not intended for a ton of weight.

Mount your dowel hardware, measure and drill the back side of your shelving, and slide your shelf on. Done.

They’ll go tight to the drywall as long as you gut out enough of the back side of the shelf to accept the thickness of the metal mounting plates.

I’m a sucker for old, authentic, hand hewn wood. It really adds a warm touch of Americana to any interior or exterior.

When we give our home a facelift, I bought some reclaimed, authentic, hand hewn lumber from the American Midwest and wrapped our ridge beam with it. It’s one of my favorite touches to our home.

If you ever want to add wood beams to your home for esthetics, drop me a note. Would be happy to tackle it 😃
