Protect your evergreens with anti-desiccants! This application adds a waxy coating to the leaves or needles that helps prevent water loss which results in winter burn. It also can provide some protection from salt damage. When used on deciduous species, it helps to protect flower buds and tender stems. This treatment is for azalea, rhododendron, boxwoods, hollies, arborvitaes, junipers, pines, and yews. They can also be used on the stems and buds of some deciduous species like roses and hydrangeas. This treatment is done in October-November when temperatures are regularly around 40-50 degrees.
